Towards Generative AI for robotics
GRAIL addresses one of the major challenges in robotics today: enabling robots to work in real, changing and complex industrial environments without relying on closed solutions designed for a single task.
The project develops the first European AI foundation model for robotics, providing a common technological base applicable to different types of robots, from industrial arms and collaborative robots to humanoid platforms.

Use cases
Validated in five strategic industrial sectors
GRAIL will validate its technology in 10+ embodiments across more than 25 validation setups in at least five strategic European industries covering automotive, aerospace, intralogistics, steel and electronics.
These applications will test the model across different tasks, environments and robotic platforms to demonstrate its transferability and industrial relevance.

Open calls & testing hubs
Funding opportunities for accelerating robotics AI adoption in Europe
GRAIL will launch three Open Calls to extend the impact of its technologies across the European industrial ecosystem.
Through more than €10 million in financial support to third parties, the project will support more than 40 complementary projects focused on data generation, validation and adoption of the GRAIL model in additional industrial settings.
Selected projects will access GRAIL’s four Testing Hubs to test and validate solutions in realistic industrial environments.

Consortium
A European consortium for creating the first European AI model for robotics
GRAIL project, coordinated by Eurecat Technology Center, brings together leading organisations from across Europe, combining expertise in robotics, generative AI, industrial automation, cybersecurity, data, ethics, validation and technology transfer.
The project counts on the participation of partners from 10 countries and includes industrial companies, research and technology organisations, universities and innovation actors.
